sharing the journey

Creating and developing partnerships

Since Runmaka went ‘live’ we have had several great meetings showing Runmaka and enjoying the conversations that have resulted. I am similar to so many others in that I am very passionate about cricket and I love the in depth conversations about so many aspects of the game.

What we are beginning to recognise is that due to Runmaka being in its infancy, we are at the start of what we aim to be a very long journey. Similar to coaching a player, or a team, there will be so many experiences to take note of over the next few years. There will be advice to heed, advice to place to one side for a while and some advice to not worry about at all. And like one of my innings years ago, there will be mistakes! What we are most keen on is the journey being shared. Similar to coaching a player or team, it’s everyone’s journey.

We could have waited longer to release and provide more depth to the product. We could have aimed at developing something almost complete. Could we have aimed for perfection at the start? A philosophy of mine is that there is only momentary perfection. There has to be a quest for excellence, but ongoing perfection? I’ve always felt the quest for perfection is an impossible dream. You can achieve a nine dart finish or 330 in ten pin bowling or a 10/10. But every time?

And what is perfection? Where cricket is concerned, where is the ending? So how could we possibly start at the end? So here we are at the beginning. We are meeting so many people engaging with us and supporting us. It’s these partnerships and supporters that will be our life-blood as we evolve. As a batter or bowler, it was always easier with a partner who worked with you.

We have three clear strands evolving and these have been recognised following discussions and feedback from developing partners. It is too early to divulge everything as there is much to plan to ensure a clear strategy is implemented. Runmaka becoming a better support system is our key focus for now and where our commitment will remain. Adding greater depth to add additional concepts to target other key areas is something we are very keen to explore. Some of these may have to be more complete at the start for it to offer the greatest value – it could take time.

Tomorrow will be our first Runmaka Christmas lunch, which will be a small affair for now. Fingers crossed for bigger events in the future…

Merry Christmas everyone.

Enjoy…
